MULTAN:

The late arrival of Vehari DCO Nasir Jamal Hotiana at Pakistan Day celebrations put a damper on festivities and most of the dignitaries left in a huff.

MPA Sadiq Khursheed of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz said the ceremony was supposed to start at 10am but the DCO did not arrive on time.

At first he told us to call him after an hour and then stopped answering calls altogether, he said.

District Bar president Advocate Malik Shabbir Awan said the DCO’s disregard for punctuality was “disgraceful”.  District Bar members left the event’s venue in protest and said they would strike till the DCO was transferred.  DCO Hotiana, however, said they were creating a furore over nothing. “I wasn’t that late,” he said.
