Nauroz celebrations: Six arrested for aerial firing in Hangu

Weapons and hand grenades were also confiscated

HANGU/ PARACHINAR:


Festivities were held in Parachinar, Kurram Agency where people gathered in Zeran and exchanged greetings amid seven different meals to celebrate Nauroz (New Year).


However, the police arrested six suspects, including a policeman, for possessing Chinese fireworks and for aerial firing at the ceremony in Patt Bazaar in Hangu district.


The operation was led by the SHO Amirullah. Three suspects identified as Farhad Ali, Asif Raza and Sajjad Ali were taken into custody for aerial firing.  Weapons and hand grenades were also confiscated.


Rayat Ali, a policeman, was also arrested for participating in aerial firing at the Nauroz ceremony. Haji Hassan and Najamul Hassan were arrested for displaying Chinese fireworks at their shops.


The accused were shifted behind bars. An FIR has been lodged against and investigation has started.
