In separate accidents: Youth killed, eight others injured

KHAIRPUR: A young man was killed and eight others were injured in three separate road accidents on Sunday. A motorcyclist, Abdul Ghaffar Gillal, along with his mother, Jameelan Gillal, was coming from Piryalo to Khairpur when a van hit his motorcycle at Shah Hussain Bypass on National Highway. Abdul Ghaffar, 30, died on the spot while his mother was injured. She was shifted to Civil Hospital, Khairpur. The body of the youth was handed over to relatives after medico-legal formalities. While the police have impounded the van, its driver escaped from the spot. Meanwhile, seven people, including two women, were hurt in two other accidents involving three motorcycles near Faiz Gunj. The injured were shifted to local hospitals.
