Fake military officials: Five imposters remanded to prison

A magistrate remanded on Wednesday five imposters for posing as fake military officers to prison while an anti-terrorism court (ATC) sentenced two accused to 14 years for possessing explosives and illicit weapons.


The imposters were identified as fake colonel Sajjad, Maj Niazi, Mujahid Hussain, Noor Zaman and Talal Qureshi. They were arrested on March 15 in a police raid in Ferozabad.


Nadeem, the complainant, said the suspects claimed to be military officials and took Rs0.15 million from him for purchasing a flat in Gulsitan-e-Jauhar. He said the suspects did not buy the a flat nor return the amount.

Meanwhile, an ATC sentenced two political workers to 14 years in prison after finding them guilty of possessing explosives and illicit weapons. The accused, identified as Asif and Qasim, were arrested last year in a raid in Zaman Town with grenades and unlicensed pistols.
