NEW DELHI:
Parineeti Chopra — who was the only female Bollywood actor at the Global Teacher Prize event in Dubai — admitted she was star-struck in the company of Matthew McConaughey and Salma Hayek. After heaping praise on McConaughey for his stint in Interstellar, Chopra was smitten when Hayek told her she has seen some of her work.

The bubbly 27-year-old even made time for a selfie moment with McConaughey, only to have her picture-perfect moment photobombed by fellow actors Abhishek Bachchan and Akshay Kumar. “I was star-struck. It’s not every day that you meet these amazing, great performers,” Chopra said after the event. For her, it was a proud moment to be a part of an event which also saw the participation of former US President Bill Clinton and Pope Francis. “The fun and game is on its own. But for me, it was a very proud moment that I was a part of this,” she added.

Parineeti amazed with Bollywood’s popularity

According to Chopra, she was also able to spend ample time with Pakistani singer-cum-actor Ali Zafar, and Hayek as well. “I am so glad that they were humble and grateful enough to just spend time with us,” said Chopra. Hayek and McConaughey also danced to some Bollywood songs like Khaike Paan Banaras Wala and Jumma Chumma De De on stage. “We actually got a lot of time to spend with each other. We were in Akshay’s room taking pictures, chilling and talking about everything. We all went down to the beach, where the event was being held. We got to spend the whole evening together,” Parineeti shared.
