No alliance with PML-N, PPP: Chaudhry Sarwar

Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf (PTI) leader Chaudhry Sarwar said on Monday the party could never be part of an alliance with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

Sarwar was commenting on PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s statement suggesting that together the three parties could do a lot for Pakistan.

The former governor said the political future of the PML-N and the PPP appeared bleak. “Any party that enters into an alliance with these parties will be doomed too,” Sarwar said.

He said the “PML-N-PPP alliance” had failed to deliver. He said the PTI was fighting against ‘monarchical’ rule.

He said the rulers wanted to cover up their corruption. He alleged that the PML-N wanted to turn the province into a no-go area for the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). “A democracy can never flourish until corruption is eliminated,” he said. Separately, Abdul Aleem Khan, too, criticised the PPP chairperson’s remarks. “The statement reflects his political immaturity,” Khan said.

“Our struggle is against the status quo… we cannot think of forming an alliance with the parties making anti-people policies,” he said. “Instead of making such statements, Bilawal Bhutto should bring back the money they have unlawfully taken abroad.”
