A Jashn-i-Baharan Food and Crafts Mela will kick off at Bagh-i-Jinnah on Friday (today). The festival has been organised by the Parks and Horticulture Authority.
A spokesperson for the PHA said on Thursday that they had arranged for several colourful programmes and activities for families and children. He said they were trying to organise recreational events at the mela.
One of the events planned is a musical event which will be held at the opening ceremony. The spokesperson said they had invited several famous musicians and singers to perform at the event. Saturday and Sunday will be reserved for families only, everyone else is welcome on any other day.
Other events organised at the mela are a mehfil-i-Qirat, naat, food and craft exhibition, food mela, music show, joyrides, an art village, folk dances, face painting stalls, street performances, a gymnastics show, a photography competition and exhibition, and camel and horse riding.
