At least four policemen were booked on court orders for keeping a man in illegal detention for six days.

A policeman told The Express Tribune on Wednesday that complainant Javed Iqbal approached the court and stated his son Kamran Javed, a resident of Alhaj Tower, was forcibly taken away by police personnel. Iqbal said the police kept Kamran in custody for six days without lodging an FIR. Later, the father said the police filed a case against Kamran for possessing hashish.

The policeman added in light of the complaint, the court directed Town police to register an FIR against sub-inspector Yahya Khan, ASI Mirdad, sub-inspector Qimat Khan and sub-inspector Khalil Khan.

Meanwhile, Banamarhi police lodged an FIR against two accused identified as Farooq and Ilyas for kidnapping Saifur Rehman from Garhi Qamardin over a monetary dispute.

Mewa Khan, the brother of the victim, approached Banamarhi police, complaining Rehman had been kidnapped by the accused over a petty dispute. The police lodged an FIR against the suspects and started investigation.
