Kidnapping Cases: FIRs registered against several cops
The cases were registered under section 365-A of the Pakistan Penal Code

The police on Tuesday, on the directives of the apex court, registered three cases against police officials for their alleged involvement in kidnappings for ransom. Hearing the Karachi law and order case on Monday, the Supreme Court directed the Sindh IGP to take action against the cops after a police report submitted to the court revealed the involvement of nearly 47 cops in kidnapping cases. On court directives, police on Tuesday registered three cases at Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) against the police officials and their private associates. The first FIR was registered against CTD in-charge inspector Tariq Islam and three other police officials for allegedly kidnapping and looting a trader from Civil Lines. The second FIR was registered against 18 people, including several serving and retired cops for kidnapping around 56 people. The third FIR was registered against four police officials. The cases were registered under section 365-A of the Pakistan Penal Code.
