Domestic violence: FIR sought against violent husband
Petitioner Zarina Bibi told the court that her husband Khalil Ahmed had told her to leave his house a few weeks ago
LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge sought comments from the Gujjarpura SHO on a petition filed by a woman seeking an FIR against her husband who allegedly beat her up after she asked for money to buy medicine. Petitioner Zarina Bibi told the court that her husband Khalil Ahmed had told her to leave his house a few weeks ago. She said that she was living with her sister. “My husband usually gives me money to take care of our children. He hadn’t given us money for a few days and I had run out of money so I asked him for more.” She said that she had needed a medical check-up and had asked for money to pay the doctor’s fees. “However, my husband beat me up badly and threatened to kill me.”
