Tennis: Pakistan hosts first international event in 11 years

The Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) Pakistan 14 and Under Super Series will feature five wild cards in the competition that will begin on Tuesday at the Dilawar Abbas Complex in Islamabad.
Pakistan has been banned by the International Tennis Federation to hold any events on home soil due to the law and order situation in the country.

The Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) Pakistan 14 and Under Super Series will feature five wild cards in the competition that will begin on Tuesday at the Dilawar Abbas Complex in Islamabad.
Sameer Ahmed, Abdul Samad Areejo, Naalain Abbas Subhan bin Salik and Malaysia’s Wee Yi Shen will be the wild card in the main round.
On the local circuit, Lahore’s Sameer defeated Islamabad Mohammad Rahim 6-0, 6-1 to book his place in the tournament.

Huzaifa Abdul Rehman will kick-off the tournament as the top seed while Hamza bin Rehan is second. Britain’s Mohammad Said is the third seed, while Sri Lanka’s Yanishkhe Cooray is fourth.
It is the first time in 11 years that Pakistan is holding an international tennis event at home.
