Minus-A formula: MQM says workers under pressure to join Kamal
Farooq Sattar claims families of detained, missing activists being forced to join the new party
KARACHI:
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) claimed on Saturday that the families of its missing and detained party workers are being forced to join the new political party formed by Mustafa Kamal and Anis Kaimkhani.
Addressing a news conference, party MNA and senior deputy convener Dr Farooq Sattar said that the families of their workers, including those imprisoned and those who have gone missing, were being forced to switch loyalties for the sake of their loved ones.
“The conspiracies of the 1992 are being repeated even today. But they won’t be successful,” he said speaking at the party headquarters of Nine Zero.
Sattar said that elements conspiring against the MQM were ready to put in place the plan of minus-Altaf formula and to carry forward the designs they were also using FIA and NAB to prepare cases against the party leaders.
In a communiqué, the MQM’s Senator Barrister Saif requested the premier to form a judicial commission and look into the allegations levelled by Javed Hashmi against the PTI during the dharna days.
He said that the commission should investigate the allegations that Imran Khan was supported by secret forces and also received money to unseat the democratic government and come into power through undemocratic means.
