Qadri’s execution: Protests continue for fifth day

Processions were taken out in Abbottabad, Shinkiari and other areas of Mansehra district

PESHAWAR/CHARSADDA/HARIPUR/TIMERGARA: Demonstrations sparked by the execution of Mumtaz Qadri continued in various parts of the province for the fifth consecutive day. In Peshawar and other districts, the rallies were held after Friday prayers. Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) and other religious parties took part. Jamaat-e-Islami leader Professor Mohammad Ibrahim Khan and several others addressed a protest rally held at Mahabat Khan Masjid. In Charsadda, the rallies were held at Farooq-e-Azam Chowk, Abu Bakr Chowk and Tangi Chowk. Similarly, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl provincial chief and former senator Maulana Gul Nasib Khan led a rally in Timergara. Also, religious parties in various parts of Hazara Division protested after Friday prayers. In Mansehra, some traders observed a shutter-down strike. Processions were taken out in Abbottabad, Shinkiari and other areas of Mansehra district.
