Information minister Pervaiz Rasheed could not answer where the amount of 'mulk sawaro qarz utaro' scheme went
KARACHI: This is with reference to the press conference held recently by the honourable Federal Minister of Information, Pervaiz Rasheed. While it went on, an APP correspondent raised a question as to where exactly did the mulk sawaro qarz utaro amount collected in 1998 go.
The minister actually left the press conference and abused the press reporter for raising such a question. Shouldn’t the minister have simply answered the query instead of avoiding the subject and making a scene?
The fact is that the government was granted a lot of funds for the sake of widows and orphans who cannot fend for themselves but instead, the money was used elsewhere before it could get to them. There is no accountability of the funds and the prime minister won’t comment on the subject either.
