Planning and budgeting: 57 LG members trained in Karak, Haripur

At least 57 local government representatives from Karak and Haripur districts were trained on decentralised planning and budgeting in the first two days of Sub-National Governance Programme.


A press release issued by the LG department on Wednesday stated the month-long training session of LG members from six districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa commenced on March 1 and will continue till April 1.  The training is being held in Karak, DI Khan, Lakki Marwat, Buner, Haripur and Nowshera. As part of the programme, dedicated training manuals have been prepared to be used during the sessions.

Karak and Haripur

During the first two days, around 25 district officers were trained in Karak and while 32 were trained in Haripur district.  Karak Additional Deputy Commissioner Zafar Ali Khan termed the training the need of the hour. He commented, “The training will help streamline the planning process in the district.”

Appreciating the initiative, Haripur district nazim Adil Islam said, “Our decisions have impacts on the lives of the people. For good impact, we need to take decisions based on the needs of the people.”
