Deadly Slip: Five-year-old killed in traffic accident

LAHORE: A five-year-old child died in a traffic accident in Nawankot area on Tuesday. A police officer investigating the matter said that the accident occurred at Liaqat Chowk. “Pervez, a resident of Thokar Niaz Baig, was riding the bike along with his son. He parked his motorcycle in Liaqat Chowk and went to a shop,” the police official said. He said the rider had left the child standing near the motorcycle. Later, the policeman said, the child wandered away from the motorcycle and, according to witnesses, started walking towards the centre of the road. He said a mini bus coming from the opposite direction ran over the child, who died on the spot. He said the bus driver managed to escape from the scene. The police official said an FIR had been registered against the unidentified bus driver and search was underway to track him down.
