Three-day Mardan Regional Games begin

More than 600 players participating in 17 different games

MARDAN: Mardan Commissioner Zakir Hussain Afridi inaugurated the three-day Mardan Regional Games held in connection with Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Youth Games 2016. A handout issued by the sports directorate on Tuesday stated the ceremony took place at Mardan Sports Complex. More than 600 players are participating in 17 different games.

Sports Director Tariq Mahmood said after games come to an end at the regional level, inter-regional games will be organised at provincial level. He said the present government was going to provide all necessary facilities to the sports department for promotion of such activities.

Afridi welcomed the visiting teams and urged them to exhibit true sportsman spirit during the games. He said all necessary facilities would be provided to the players in Mardan and other districts of the province.
