LPG conference: Focus to be on consumer safety

According to Khokhar, the use of substandard cylinders is claiming approximately five lives daily

ISLAMABAD: The Liquefied Petroleum Gas Distributors Association Pakistan will hold the first international conference on LPG on March 17, its Chairman Irfan Khokhar said on Monday. “The association is going to hold a mega conference in Lahore, which will be the first of its kind in the country’s history,” he told APP. He said the conference would be attended by delegates from across the country and abroad, besides experts from the LPG marketing companies, manufacturers of cylinders, kits and bowsers. The basic theme of the conference would be the safety of LPG consumers and staff associated with the industry as the production of substandard cylinders poses a major threat to the citizens nowadays. According to Khokhar, the use of substandard cylinders is claiming approximately five lives daily.
