LONDON: British heartthrob Jude Law has angered his neighbours with blaring music, whilst hosting a ‘festival’ style, all-night party at his mansion in the British capital. Residents near the actor’s five-bedroom home in Highgate, North London, claimed they were kept up until the wee hours of the night by loud music coming out of Law’s house on February 21. The situation got so bad that noise protection officers were forced to visit and ask for the music to be turned down, reports The Mirror.

One resident of the neighbourhood claimed the party was “like having a major festival event next door.” It is as yet unknown if the Grand Budapest Hotel star was present at the house himself as he did manage to make it to France just hours later, for a tour of the Jungle migrant camp in Calais.

Carolyn Mitchell, who lives a street away from Law, claimed the noise kept her awake until 3 a.m. in the morning. “It was terrifically noisy. It was like having a major festival event next door,” she said, speaking with Hampstead and Highgate News. “It was that loud, with songs blaring out on an extremely loud sound system. The party felt like a concert, the audience was responding to the songs.” Mitchell went on to claim that the noise sounded “more like a live event” and “not at all Highgate.”

Another neighbour who preferred to not be named told the paper, “The noise was just unreal. My whole family couldn’t sleep, it was terrible. I’ve been here for a long time, but it hasn’t happened like this before.”
