MUMBAI:
Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan was honoured when West Indian cricketer Chris Gayle presented him with an autographed bat as a gift. The actor said he was in awe of the reach of Indian cinema and that finding a fan in Gayle came as a “revelation” to him.

The 73-year-old Bachchan took to various social media platforms in order to express his happiness over receiving the token of love from an international batting sensation. “Mr Chris Gayle...What an honour,” he tweeted. “I never knew you would know me and am so humbled. We are all great fans of yours. I mean, Chris Gayle, a fan of Hindi movies and presents me a golden bat autographed. I mean, this is a revelation!”

Bachchan also shared his gratitude on his Facebook page. “Chris Gayle, the phenomenal cricketer from West Indies sent me a bat autographed!” posted the Paa star. “Amazing… I never knew he was such a fan of our films. Humbled and overwhelmed.”

Gayle — who also plays as part of the Indian Premiere League (IPL) — proclaimed himself to be a big fan of the Bollywood ‘Shehenshah,’ who has regaled film buffs for over four decades. “Proud to gift my Spartan bat to a legend @srbachchan. Love his movies and his style…legend. Thanks @spartancricket,” Gayle tweeted in response. After Big B responded, Gayle said, “See you soon in India.”
