Suspiciously slow driving: President’s motorcade drivers arrested

Lahore police have detained two drivers from President Mamnoon Hussain’s motorcade, allegedly for deliberately driving too slowly, Express News reported on Friday. President Mamnoon was returning from a local hotel after attending a ceremony during his daylong visit to Punjab’s provincial capital. According to Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Amin Wains, the drivers of two cars in the president’s motorcade were driving slower than they were supposed to. The police subsequently blocked the convoy in the cantonment area and detained the two drivers for questioning. On February 22, officials said security for the president and his family had been tightened ahead of his decision on a mercy plea by Mumtaz Qadri.
