LAHORE:

University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Vice Chancellor Fazal Ahmad Khalid said on Thursday co-curricular activities were necessary for the growth of students.

“Such activities help in personality-building,” the vice chancellor said at the start of a three-day event, titled PSI Meet ‘16. The UET Science Society has arranged the event that included Smarty Pants, a quiz competition; Sherlocked, another game-based event and Tall of the Tallest, a collaborative game among the participants.

“At the UET, we explore the hidden qualities of the youth,” Khalid said.

He asked students to focus on research. “We are living in the era of fast-growing competition at local and global levels. It is the need of the hour to learn from others and engineer research-friendly and comprehensive policies,” the VC said.
