Pakistan to get $255 million in financial assistance to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.
An agreement to this effect was signed between The Global Fund and Economic Affairs Division here on Wednesday.
The Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on the occasion appreciated The Global Fund for its continued support for Pakistan in the health sector. “The frame agreement will greatly help us in eradicating HIV/AIDs, TB and Malaria”, the finance minister added.
He said transparency was the hallmark of the current government and this assistance would be used in a free, fair and transparent manner.
He said the federal government was working for the promotion of health sector and the provinces should also allocate the required funds in this sector.
The Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria is an international financing organisation which aims to attract and disburse additional resources to prevent and treat HIV and AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.
