A delegation of the trader welfare association from Sector G-10/4 visited the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) to discuss their grievances with the capital’s civic agency. Association president Chaudhry Zafar Iqbal said the Capital Development Authority (CDA) was paying no attention to development work in the sector’s market, due to which traders were facing difficulties in running their businesses. Iqbal stressed that the CDA needed to expedite the process of awarding work order to a contractor for the construction of a bridge in Sector G-10/4, as without it, the market is divided in two parts, posing challenges for customers. He said lack of proper basic infrastructure like better roads, foot paths parking facility, street lights and good sewerage system were other major issues of the area. ICCI President Atif Ikram said the CDA should resolve key issues of traders and also rationalise high taxes including tax on commercial plots, as these increased the cost of business in the capital.
