Diamond Paints defeated Learning Alliance 9-4.5 to clinch the 2016 Lahore Aibak Polo Cup at the Lahore Polo Club on Sunday.
Santiago Cernadas struck five goals, while Saqib Khan Khakwani hammered four goals for Diamond Paints.
Learning Alliance, who entered the game with a half-goal advantage, had their Chilean player Matias Vial Perez to thank as he scored a hat-trick to help his side avoid a heavy defeat, while Ahmed Ali Tiwana contributed with one goal.
Meanwhile in the third-place match, Master Paints defeated Master Paints/Habib Metro 4.5-4 as Argentina’s Juan Cruz Losada scored a hat-trick, while Hamza Mawaz Khan scored a goal.
Hissam Ali Hyder and Pedro Gutierrez scored two goals each for the losing side.
Despite both teams scoring the same number of goals, Master Paints won due to their half-goal handicap advantage over their opponents.
