Reforms in Pakistani education

Letter January 17, 2011
India has made progress in this field and they are now at par with China and the West.

NEW DELHI: This is in response to Sir Michael Barber’s article published on January 14, “Pakistan’s year of education”. The author has discussed the most important field for any country i.e. education, a crucial instrument for the progress of any nation. India has made a lot of progress in this field and the results are there for all to see, as they are now at par with China and the West.

The most important aspect of education is the curriculum and quality of education. Pakistan needs to remove the element of hatred towards other religions, which has become a part of the education it imparts along with a distortion of its history, both of which have played a major role in increasing intolerance, violence and frustration amongst the youth of the country.
