Promoting education: IIUI, Kazakhstan to enhance ties

The ambassador also invited the university’s president to visit his country for a meeting with the education minister

International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) and the government of Kazakhstan have agreed to enhance mutual cooperation in higher education, said a press release.


This was agreed at a meeting between the Ambassador of Kazakhstan Bakhitbek Shabarbayev and the university president, Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh in Islamabad on Sunday.


Ambassador Shabarbayev appreciated the university’s role in promoting Islamic teachings all over the world.


It was also agreed that Islamic Research Institute’s Director-General Dr Muhammad Ziaul Haq will represent IIUI at an international conference on “Religions against Terrorism”, to be held later this year in Astana.


The ambassador also invited the university’s president to visit his country for a meeting with the education minister in this regard.


The IIUI President briefed the ambassador on the recently held conference on ‘Role of religious leaders in combating terrorism.”
