MUZAFFARABAD:
A political worker was killed and six others injured during a clash between two political parties in the Nakyal area of Kotli in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Saturday. According to police, workers of Pakistan People’s Party local chapter were busy making arrangements for a party congregation on the ground of the Government College Nakyal, when workers of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz allegedly attacked them and pelted stones at them, which resulted in the death of PPP worker Munshi Khan. The ensued clash also resulted in injuries to six workers of both the parties. The dead and the injured were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital Kotli for medico-legal formalities and treatment. The police fired tear gas to disperse the fighting workers. Political parties are gearing up for the upcoming general elections of AJK Legislative Assembly scheduled to be held in June 2016.
