A police constable was killed by unidentified gunmen on Friday at Latif Shaheed check post in Tank. Tank police said Constable Tariq Khan Kundi was on duty and inspecting vehicles at the check post when he stopped a rickshaw and started searching the vehicle.
As he was looking at the driver’s identity card, the latter pulled out a gun and opened fire. Kundi was rushed to District Headquarters Hospital Tank where he later died. The counter-terrorism department of DI Khan lodged an FIR and started investigation. Kundi was laid to rest at his native graveyard of Akbar Shaheed Friday evening.
A policeman was shot dead Friday morning in Ajab Bagh area of GT Road, Pabbi, Nowshera. An injured Bilal told the police he and Shahbaz, who was with Sheikhupura police in Punjab, were going to Peshawar when the two were intercepted by gunmen. Bilal added the assailants opened fire and killed Shahbaz. The suspects managed to flee the site and Bilal was rushed to Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar. An FIR was registered at a police station in Peshawar. However, a Pabbi police official said a personal dispute resulted in the attack.
