PSL: Quetta beat Islamabad to go top

Imran Khalid was the second highest scorer making 18 runs off 18 balls

Quetta Gladiators shot to the top of the inaugural Pakistan Super League (PSL) by defeating Islamabad United by seven wickets in Sharjah on Thursday. Quetta won the toss and opted to bowl first. Australian Shane Watson gave Islamabad a good start, scoring 40 off 28 balls but no other player was able to chip in with a comprehensive innings. Imran Khalid was the second highest scorer making 18 runs off 18 balls as Islamabad were bowled out for a paltry 117 in 19.1 overs. Grant Elliot was the pick of Quetta’s bowlers, picking three wickets for 25 runs. Zulfiqar Babr and Aizaz Cheema chipped in taking two wickets each. Quetta had a stuttering start losing Luke Wright and Kevin Pietersen in just the second over with the score on 14. However, Ahmed Shehzad, 41, and Sarfraz Ahmed, 51, helped Quetta cross the line in just 16.1 overs for the loss of three
