ISLAMABAD: The Judicial Commission constituted on the directives of the Supreme Court to investigate the breaching of dykes in Sindh and the subsequent devastation during last year’s floods, has summoned the chairman Flood Commission, chairman National Disaster Management Authority and irrigation secretaries of all four provinces in the next meeting.

Representatives from each province have been selected to serve on the commission and the inaugural meeting was convened to develop a strategy for concluding the investigations within the two months, subject to completion of the investigations, assigned by the apex court.

During the course of its investigations, the commission will seek answers to a set of thirteen questions placed on its agenda.

The Cabinet secretary and the four chief secretaries were also invited to attend the meeting along with the additional registrar of the Supreme Court Sajid Mahmood Qazi who has been appointed as a facilitator for the commission.
