ISLAMABAD:

Religious scholars from different Muslim countries have unanimously denounced all forms of terrorism, religious extremism and sectarian violence, vowing to shun differences and strive for peace.

In a joint declaration issued after the Message of Islam Conference held in Islamabad, clerics declared military, ideological and intellectual alliance to be the panacea to all ills and challenges facing the Muslim world, calling for guiding and educating youths against terrorism, extremism and sectarianism.

Rooting out extremism

They termed “anti-Islam and anti-Muslim” all militant outfits involved in killing innocent people and blamed them for weakening Islamic countries by using the name of Islam and jihad.

Calling for an end to foreign interference in the Muslim world, the declaration said increasing meddling, particularly the prevailing tensions between Iran and the Arab countries, was dangerous for the entire Muslim world.
