Polio drive: Five health workers suspended

SHANGLA: At least five workers of health department were suspended for refusing to participate in the polio campaign held in January. The suspension orders were issued by Shangla Additional Deputy Commissioner Farhatullah Marwat on Thursday. An official of the health department in Shangla told The Express Tribune Parveen, Bakht Zai, Shabana, Ismail Khan and Sher Rehman were suspended when they refused to participate in a four day anti-polio campaign that was held from January 11 till 14 in Shangla. When the incident came into Additional Assistant Commissioner Abdul Kabir’s notice, he constituted a committee to probe the matter.
