Family park: Lawyers protest construction
District nazim Himayatullah Mayar also took part in the demonstrations
MARDAN:
Lawyers held a demonstration on Thursday for the second day in a row outside Mardan Press Club against the construction of a family park on the abandoned old prison’s land. The provincial government has decided to construct a family park on the site of the old prison in the city. However the lawyers have rejected the decision and demanded the establishment of a judicial complex instead. Lawyers from Takht Bhai also showed solidarity with them and threatened more protests outside the courts if their demands were not met. Under the presidency of Mardan District Bar President Sher Muhammad Khan, a large number of lawyers took part in the protest. District nazim Himayatullah Mayar also took part in the demonstrations.
