ISLAMABAD:

The Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) has announced winners of the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards, Islamabad.

Over 70 learners in the city will receive awards for exceptional performance in the Cambridge examinations.

These include 17 learners who achieved highest marks in the world and 16 who attained highest marks in the country in a single subject.

The awards celebrate the outstanding academic achievements of secondary school learners in the country in the June and November 2015 Cambridge examination series.

Schools will be hosting individual award ceremonies to celebrate achievements of their students.

The awards also celebrate performance of those learners who have been recognised for high achievement in subjects not so widely taken in Pakistan, and those who have achieved total highest cumulative marks across a number of subjects.

The winning learners have outperformed thousands of candidates worldwide who appeared in Cambridge O Levels, IGCSEs and international AS and A Levels.

CIE Country Director Uzma Yousuf congratulated the high achievers and wished them success in future. “This success defines you, not just as learners, but as Cambridge learners,” she said.

The CIE is part of the University of Cambridge.
