RAWALPINDI:

The ban on kite-flying and metallic strings is apparently not being implemented in city and cantonment areas.

The residents of the city have expressed concern over kite-flying and use of metallic strings, banned by the city administration.

They said the violation is a question mark and pointed out it seemed local police had failed to stop it as the violation is being witnessed in several areas of the town.

The areas of the city, where kite flying was going unchecked, included Peoples Colony, Tench Bhatta, Dhoke Seydan, Kiani Road, Dhoke Chaudharian, Adyala Road, Bakra Mandi, Masrial and some other areas.

It seems local administration has failed to implement the ban, Faisal, a citizen said adding certain areas of the city were noticed where the activity was openly carried out specially on Fridays and Sundays. The citizens have demanded strict compliance of the kite flying ban.
