Monetary dispute: Three killed during clash in Swabi

A case has been registered and further investigation is under way

At least three people were killed while another was injured during clashes between two groups in Managi village of Swabi on Friday. A police official told The Express Tribune, a scuffle broke out between both groups over a monetary dispute.


“Two groups opened fire on each other,” he said. “The exchange of fire lasted for an hour. As a result, three people were killed.”


According to the official, two of the deceased have been identified as Muhammad Said and Asghar. “The wife of Naeem Khan also lost her life in the incident,” he said. “The injured was identified as Arshad.”


A case has been registered and further investigation is under way. Separately, 80 suspects were arrested during search operations conducted in various parts of the district. A large cache of arms and ammunitions were also confiscated from their possession.


Insiders told The Express Tribune search operations were carried out in Sheikh Jana, Managi, Rashakai, Amankot and Sher Dara. A large number of proclaimed offenders were also arrested during the sweeps. At least 135 unregistered motorcycles were confiscated.
