Pakistani brothers suspected of murdering brother-in-law in Dubai

The victim was strangled to death with a plastic rope

In an unusual case of honour killing in Dubai, two Pakistani brothers have allegedly murdered their brother-in-law for marrying their sister against the family’s will.

The victim's brother said he suspected the two brothers as they held grudges against the victim for his marriage with their sister. The victim had lots of problems back in his home country because of that, he added.



Thirty-four-year-old FK lured the victim, who was also Pakistani, to a sandy yard in Satwa, a residential community in Dubai. The defendant allegedly assaulted the victim and strangled him to death with a plastic rope.

A Dubai court heard the case on Wednesday, and F.K was charged in absentia in the Court of First Instance with premeditated murder.

The other defendant, A.K, a 26-year-old working as a driver, has been charged with aiding and abetting F.K by planning the murder with his brother.



The cab company the victim worked for reported him to the police after he failed to give back his car and could not be reached on his phone.

Shortly after, a police lieutenant in the Public Prosecution investigation used the tracking the device installed in the cab and found the company’s car with the victim’s body inside it.

The victim's brother said that a day before the incident, the victim had informed him of his meeting with FK to work out their differences.

"Later on that day, the brother tried to call the victim many times but could not reach him," said the police official.



According to prosecution records, F.K fled the UAE about six hours before the crime was discovered, through the Dubai International Airport.

The court adjourned the hearing to February 28.
