Crime round-up: Six Lyari ‘gangsters’ arrested

As many as half-a-dozen alleged gangsters from Lyari were apprehended on Wednesday during targeted raids in different parts of the neighbourhood.

SHO Ayaz Khan said that the police arrested six gangsters during the operation in Phool Patti Lane, Dubai Chowk, Eidu Lane and Ali Muhammad Muhalla, adding that Siraj Baloch, a local commander of a Lyari-based gang, was arrested along with his five companions during the operation.

Meanwhile, there were unconfirmed reports about a raid conducted by law enforcers at the house of Sania Naz, a Lyari-based MPA belonging to the Pakistan Peoples Party. The law enforcers interrogated her about her links with notorious gangster Uzair Baloch. On the other hand, police officials and Sania Naz denied the news about any such raid.
