HYDERABAD: The by-elections on PS-76 in Dadu district, vacated by the removal of former Sindh chief minister Liaquat Ali Jatoi, will be held on March 3. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) de-notified Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's Jatoi in pursuance of a Supreme Court order. The seat was won by Pakistan Peoples Party's Parveen Aziz Junejo, who bagged 56,938 votes against Jatoi's 22,803. However, in November 2014, election tribunal judge Zafar Ahmed Khan Sherwani ruled in favour of Jatoi's petition, which accused Junejo of rigging, and asked the ECP to notify him as the MPA. According to the new schedule, the nomination forms will be submitted from February 8 to February 9, while the scrutiny of forms will be carried out on February 10 and February 11. Candidates can apply to the tribunal against rejection of their nomination by February 13 and the tribunal will announce its decisions on February 16.
