Dubai, one of the world's most spectacular and futuristic urban destinations, has become a bucket list destination for many, which will no doubt wow its visitors with its cloud-high skyscrapers, luxury shopping avenues and modern architecture.

The bustling destination has something for everyone and attracts scores of tourists all year-round.

Although the city is often stereotyped as a vacuous consumerist fleshpot, the cliché does no justice to Dubai's beguiling contrasts and rich cultural make-up.

Someone | 8 years ago | Reply A lot of comments by wannabe Liberals who have obviously never been to Dubai and thus cannot appreciate it for what it is. Dubai is a model of how to rise and succeed, something which we have failed to emulate. Over 500,000 Pakistanis live in Dubai, the second largest ethnicity there. And most of them are prosperous, not just 'labourers'. Some very misinformed comments here.
