Metro train: Agitation halts construction work

The protesters dispersed after two hours

LAHORE: Hundreds of people staged a protest demonstration against the Orange Line Metro Train project in Manawan on Sunday. Some of the protesters turned violent and started pelting the machinery and labourers with stones. The construction crew fled. The protesters said that the government had not yet paid them any compensation for acquiring their land for the project. The protesters dispersed after two hours.
