Tribal areas: 43 new projects in the works

Two roads; from Barthi to Thaiker and Skahibor Bakhsh to Harandar, Rajanpur would be constructed in February

DERA GHAZI KHAN:


“The Punjab government has approved Rs38 million for 43 development projects in Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur,” said Tribal Area Development Project Director Tahir Khursheed on Sunday.


He was addressing a meeting.  He said the government had approved several water supply projects which would include construction of tube wells, supply lines and small dams for irrigation.  He said 50-watt solar lamps would be distributed among 768 people. He said water filtration units would also be set up.  He said the Irrigation Department had identified the new water resources in tribal areas for small dams.


Khursheed was told that seven roads would built be at a cost of Rs542 million. Two roads; from Barthi to Thaiker and Skahibor Bakhsh to Harandar, Rajanpur would be constructed in February.
