Officer down: SHO shot dead on resistance

LAHORE: The Shadbagh SHO was shot dead on Saturday on resisting a robbery attempt, Defence C police said. Tajammul Butt and his friends were on their way on a car when two motorcyclists stopped them near Y-Block of DHA phase 7. When Butt put up resistance, they shot him and drove away. He was taken to a hospital but succumbed to the injuries. Police said they had sent the body for an autopsy. Operations DIG Haider Ashraf said the SHO had been hit by five bullets and apparently died instantly. He said three teams had been tasked with arresting the killers.
