ABBOTABAD: The de-seated Abbottabad district nazim, Sardar Sher Bahadur, vowed to challenge the decision of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) at the high court. After a reference from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Bahadur was de-seated by the ECP along with 1o other members of the PTI forward bloc in the district council on Friday.

Speaking at a news conference with the other de-seated members, Bahadur, former district president of PTI, said he will not comment on ECP’s decision since he believes the chief election commissioner would have handed down the decision with professional honesty. However, he will challenge the decision in the high court after detailed judgment within the next few days.

Bahadur said he was an ideologue of PTI and will remain loyal to the party. He said his struggle was against “turncoats who after quitting their parties, tried to hijack PTI with their ulterior motives”. Without naming anyone, he said his war against the enemies of Imran Khan's ideology will continue.

“With the support of genuine PTI workers, I will make efforts to strengthen the party,” he added.

In response to a question, Bahadur said earlier he did not use official resources to which he was entitled under the law, except a guard and a peon. “After receiving a verdict from ECP, I will cease to use their services too.”

The ECP also de-seated Shaukat Tanoli, Nazeer Abbasi, Dr Usama, Abdul Wahab, Muhammad Zulfiqar, Shehla Zulfiqar, Bushra Jadoon, Yasmin Tariq, Shiraz Iqbal Abbasi and Yasmin Bibi from Abbottabad district council. Basit Naseem Abbasi, Abeera Gul, Nighat Yasmin and Suraya Guriya were de-seated from Abbottabad tehsil council and Habibullah, Tariq Maseeh, Nabeela Bibi, Shakila Naz and Nagina Bibi were de-seated from Havelian tehsil council.
