“Wiping out terrorism from the motherland is the collective resolve of the state of Pakistan, its government and people of the land,” a statement issued by the PM’s House quoted the premier as saying during a consultative meeting to review overall security and economic situation in Islamabad on Friday.

During the meeting PM Nawaz was briefed in detail about the last week’s terror attack on the Bacha Khan University in Charsadda district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and subsequent investigations made. “Perpetrators and facilitators of the heinous act of killing our innocent children in the place of their studies will be brought to justice,” the prime minister said.
He added that the ongoing military operation, Zarb-e-Azb, has broken the backbone of terrorists who have resorted to attacking soft targets out of sheer frustration, but the government will not let their evil agenda to succeed.
Regarding the ongoing Karachi operation, PM Nawaz said it had yielded positive results and will continue till its logical conclusion, besides appreciating the sacrifices and coordinated efforts of the law enforcement agencies across the country.
Earlier, the premier took members of the meeting into confidence on his recent visits to Saudi Arabia, Iran and Switzerland, saying Pakistan’s image abroad has improved due to the consolidated efforts of the government. “The business leaders and communities from the world view Pakistan quite positively for which the economic team of the government deserves recognition and appreciated.”

The prime minister went on to emphasize that the country is on the right track to achieve stability, economic progress and provide a conducive environment for all sectors to perform up to their true potential.
“Eliminating the menace of terrorism and ensuring a peaceful Pakistan for our future generations is the top most priority of our government and our successes against terrorism and achieving economic stability have created a new hope in our people,” he stressed.
Minister for Defence, Water and Power Khawaja Asif, Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar, Minister of Interior Chaudhry Nisar, Minister for Information Pervez Rashid, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique, Foreign Adviser Sartaj Aziz, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi and others were present at the meeting.
