PESHAWAR:

The provincial health department has completed all preparations at teaching hospitals to control the spread of H1N1 virus or swine flu. According to a handout, the health department’s disease surveillance and response unit (DSRU) has been monitoring the extent to which the virus has spread since November 2015.

The department provided medicines and safety kits to all teaching hospitals and Bacha Khan Medical Complex in Swabi to treat patients.

The health department, with the support of the World Health Organization, also raised awareness about the virus and trained doctors. Guidelines have also been issued to district headquarters hospitals across the province.
