Rapper BoB claims earth is flat, sparks rap battle with Neil Tyson

Oh boy, Pythagoras must be rolling in his grave right now.

Rapper BoB has rejected the Round Earth Theory and declared on Twitter that the earth is flat.

He posted several photos to prove his theory, claiming that if the earth was indeed spherical, a curvature would be visible in the photos, and after a certain distance, buildings would disappear from our vision due to the earth's curve.

Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson was quick to respond to the rapper’s claim stating that the New York City skyline shouldn’t be visible from 97km (60 miles) away at Harriman State Park’s Bear Mountain.

He explained that the Earth’s curve does indeed block around 46 meters (150 feet) of the Manhattan skyline from this point, however most of the buildings are a lot taller than that.



Since then the two got into a Twitter rap battle, as BoB posted a rap defending his claim, called Flat Line.

By Tuesday afternoon, Tyson responded with a track of his own, with the help of his hip-hop musician nephew, Steve Tyson called Flat to Fact. Tyson ends his rap by adding "To be clear, being five centuries regressed in your reasoning, doesn't mean we all can't still like your music."



While we all know the earth is round and don't see the point of debating it, this argument is definitely generating some interesting music.
