Under fire: Constable shot, injured in the city

The injured was taken to Lady Reading Hospital

PESHAWAR: A constable was shot and injured within the jurisdiction of Khazana police station Wednesday morning. An official of Khazana police station said Manzoor Hussain, a constable of Nowshera police, was on his way home when unidentified men opened fire on his vehicle near Bakhshi Pul. “The attackers managed to escape after committing the crime,” the official said. “The injured was taken to Lady Reading Hospital. He was hit on his neck and leg and is in critical condition.” An FIR was registered in the case and police have started investigation. This is believed to be an incident of target killing.
