PESHAWAR:

Foggy weather disturbed flight schedules at Bacha Khan International Airport (BKIA) Peshawar for the third consecutive day as seven international flights were diverted to other parts of the country. At least 17 others did arrive or depart as per schedule.

Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) officials said weather conditions did not favour landing at the airport; that was why flights were diverted to other cities.

Air Blue flight PA-631 from Abu Dhabi was diverted to Lahore. A CAA official, requesting anonymity, told The Express Tribune besides Shaheen Airlines and Air Blue, Gulf Air flight GF-784 from Bahrain was diverted to Karachi as was Shaheen Airlines’ flight NL-772 from Muscat to Karachi.

He added Qatar Airlines’ flight QR-600, scheduled to arrive at BKIA, was diverted to Karachi and so was Air Arabia’s  Flight G9-555. He added some flights ultimately landed at the BKIA in the afternoon, but Qatar and Air Arabia airlines had to cancel the scheduled arrival.
